What We Do

The Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF)

The SPF is a 5-step approach to identifying and addressing substance misuse and the underlying behavioral health problems facing communities. Using this versatile framework we can develop the infrastructure needed for effective and sustainable reductions in substance use while cultivating a culture of positive mental health.

Step 1:

Assessment

Your community prevention needs are identified. A thorough analysis is conducted and community data is collected.

Step 2:

Capacity

Resources are collected (i.e community leaders, local businesses, treatment providers)

Community readiness and interest is also determined in this step.

Step 3:

Planning

A plan is developed to address the identified needs. This includes a comprehensive assemblage of programs and practices.

Step 4:

Implementation

The plan is delivered and put into action. Adaptations are made as needed to address any changing conditions.

Step 5:

Evaluation

The overall process and outcomes of the implemented programs & practices are analyzed. All areas of opportunity are identified and addressed.

Community Prevention

MEANS

Traditional prevention efforts focus on the individual, but we believe a properly designed community prevention plan accounts for the shared environment. We approach community prevention holistically, which means we study the people, the neighborhoods, and the local context in its entirety.

Community Support
and Development

Community Support

MEANS

We believe close-knit communities that can rely on each other will thrive under any circumstance. Our strategic framework accounts for community cohesion and facilitates the unification of a community.

Community Advocacy and Policy Reform

Community Advocacy

MEANS

The voice of the people must be heard and acknowledged for an environment to fulfill the needs of a community. We proudly offer our voices, research, and expertise in support of critical legislation.
